OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR

To continue the fight of the rural families who cannot access immediate hospital support

The 2nd wave of COVID Virus is spreading rapidly in the rural Northeast. The infection rate is way large then the 1st wave which is now claiming lives in the rural pockets that were safe last year. There is need of awareness in the villages to make them understand the urgency of social distancing, wearing of masks and the danger of large gatherings. Another big challenge in the rural setup is the unavailability of emergency medical support, testing kits, masks, sanitizers and medicines to curb the spread and to support the infected patients and their families. The curfew declared in the meantime to contain the spread is creating chaos among the marginalised communities who lives by earning for one meal a day. Daily wage labourers, marginal farmers are in the brink to lose their livelihood. There is an urgent need to be prepared for delivery of dry ration kits to these families, moreover the families those are infected and isolated are in immediate need of basic ration to survive. SeSTA is preparing the community cadres it groomed to spread awareness along with the ASHA workers in the community. This cadres will be in the forefront to spread awareness and also deliver the basic necessities. While they are preparing for the fight, their arsenal needs to be strengthened with thermal scanners, sanitizers, gloves, masks and oximeters for emergency need. Join hands with SeSTA to safeguard the most vulnerable and marginalised rural communities in the Northeast. SeSTA will directly support 20,000+ Households with 1,00,000 people in 28 blocks of three states of Assam, Tripura and in the hills of Meghalaya

SeSTA was able to stand with 26,000 rural households during the nationwide lockdown last year by providing Dry Ration, Masks and Sanitary pads with your support. We were able to provide basic support when we were least prepared, but now we can be prepared for what is yet to come.

I am engaged with SeSTA as a Krishi sakhi, mobilising women farmers to adopt organic practice of cultivation. But the lockdown was something no one has ever experienced, I was never engaged in such a chaos situation, I volunteered with the team of SeSTA to distribute relief materials and also aware the villagers. Yes, I have organised meetings, mobilised people earlier but never in situation of life and death, this was different but I knew I have to do it for my people my community and I will be in the frontline again if needed” Dalimi CSP, Borobazar Block
