SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT PROGRAM

Purpose

Girl students from economically poor households can continue and complete higher studies and be a role model for the community.

Objective of the Scholarship

  • To provide equal access to higher education for deserving girls from the Adivasi & Tea Tribes communities.

  • To reduce poverty by enabling education that opens up better livelihood opportunities beyond low-wage labor.

  • To empower women by supporting female students and helping them become future leaders and role models.

  • To increase representation of Adivasi & Tea Tribes youth in higher education, professional fields, and government jobs.

  • To minimize unsafe migration by creating local opportunities through quality education and skill development.

Basic Criteria

  • The student must be female.

  • The student must belong to the Adivasi or Tea Tribes community. 

  • The student must belong from Balipara/ Rangapara Block of Sonitpur District or Sakhomata/ Baghmara Block of Biswanath District.
  • The family income must not exceed Rs. 200,000 per annum.

  • The student must have scored at least 50% in the last completed examination.

  • The student must be shortlisted or admitted to one of the listed courses.

  • Final selection will be done considering the percentage scored and household income.

No. of students & Amount

  • Yearly 20 students will be supported through the scholarship support program.
  • It’s a one-time support between Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- per student depending upon the course.
  • UPSC/APSC – Rs. 25,000/-
  • MBBS – Rs 25,000/-
  • Engineering – Rs 25,000/-
  • Post Graduate courses (Regular)- Rs 20,000/-
  • Nursing & Hospitality – Rs 20,000/-
  • Polytechnic – Rs 20,000/-
  • Industrial Technical Institute (ITI)- Rs 10,000/-
